Privacy policy

This explains what [Company name — to be registered] collects when you use Baatein, why, and what you can do about it, in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

What we collect

• Account details: name, email address, and (if you use it) your Google account's name and email.
• Profile choices: display name, avatar, languages, and your confirmation that you are 18+.
• Call records: who called whom, when, how long, and what was charged. This is your billing history.
• Payments: amount and status from our payment provider (Razorpay). We never see or store card or UPI PINs.
• Hosts only: a live selfie for verification and a UPI ID for payouts.
• Safety: reports, blocks and strikes linked to your account.

Calls are not recorded

Your voice travels through our call provider (LiveKit) to the other person. We do not record calls. If we later add a short safety buffer that is kept only when someone reports a call, we will ask for your consent first.

Why we use your data

• To run your account, connect calls and bill you correctly.
• To keep people safe: verify hosts, handle reports and appeals.
• To meet legal duties (tax records, responding to lawful requests).

We do not sell your personal data.

Who we share it with

Only the services that run Baatein: hosting, LiveKit (calls), Razorpay (payments), Resend (emails), and Google if you sign in with Google. Each gets only what it needs.

How long we keep it

Account data while your account is open. Billing and payment records for as long as tax law requires. You can ask us to delete your account; we then delete or anonymise everything we are not required to keep.

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or withdraw consent. Write to us via contact and grievances.
